While public art is usually the preserve of the visual arts, sound art highlights a renewed relationship with space and those who inhabit it. From auric architecture to public speech, sound infiltrates and confronts public spaces. Drawing on a fifteen-year experience of sound creation in public spaces, and in particular on the achievements of their latest project, “Sédiment narratif”, Étienne Legast (Audiotopie) and Nicolas Rochette(La Quadrature) will discuss different approaches to in situ sound, with a particular focus on the relational possibilities of a listening posture.
