With a degree in theatre theory and dramaturgy, Lionel Lehouillier directs, writes and performs.
Bordering on theater and social activism, he seeks to establish a dialogue between dramatic material and activism through less traditional theatrical processes. Since 2019, Lionel has been artistic director of Théâtre Tremplin, a troupe with a Franco-Ontarian mandate.
In 2022, he participated in the cross-Canada tour UN.DEUX.TROIS (NAC, Orange Noyée).
In 2023, he co-produced, wrote and starred in Laitue Matinal-e (Catapulte/Trillium) and was part of the cast of Mesdames et Messieurs, garçons et filles (Vox), two shows about trans-identity.
In co-production with Vox Théâtre and Théâtre de la Vieille 17, he is currently working on his next creation, Les Enfants Valises (fall 2026), a show about homoparentality, Deaf culture and neurodivergence.
This season, he will also be part of the cast of Cage à requins (Les Feuilles Vives), Amphibien (TPA/Vieille 17) and Hippocampe (Satellite Théâtre). Finally, he has just begun a three-year term as associate artist at Théâtre de la Vieille 17.
